VisitPBBans Popular Last Update: 2007/4/26 5:05

Description:
Welcome to PBBans, home of the PBBans Hub. We now offer a multi-streaming option by using the new PBBans Hub. It features live banning, live banlist updates, live ban removals and more.

PBBans works with game server administrators, players, and subject matter experts to pool their experience and information about cheaters. As cheats are caught through PunkBuster™ violations, screenshots or demos, they are added to our Master Ban Index (MBI). The MBI can then be filtered and downloaded to suit each registered game server admin.

PBBans is a not only a private online community for game server administrators -- we welcome anyone seeking help with PunkBuster™ enabled games. Our goal is to educate players and stop online cheaters in their tracks. PunkBuster™ is a self-updating Anti-Cheat software system developed by Even Balance, Inc.. Here is a list of the games protected by PunkBuster™: Americas Army, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Call of Duty, Call of Duty UO, Call of Duty 2, Doom3 , Enemy Territory, F.E.A.R., PREY, Quake III Arena, Quake 4, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Rainbow Six Vegas, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Soldier of Fortune II.

We at PBBans are constantly breaking new grounds in the anti-cheat world and have developed a user-friendly and trustworthy ban index. We will never place a ban on the MBI without proof from confirmed server administrators. The proof is indexed and stored at PBBans for future reference. Using our Master Player Index (MPI) you can look up any player and see a cross index of Globally Unique Identifiers (GUIDs), Aliases, IP Addresses and bans as well as proof of any ban.

We at PBBans ask you, the server administrators, to put in a small amount of effort by setting your server up to stream to PBBans, submitting bans and sharing your experiences. In return, we will give you access to the MBI, MPI, special tools developed by PBBans and our growing userbase of server admins. Click on our forums to read all about the system and provide us with some suggestions and feedback. You are also welcome to talk live with us and idle in our IRC channel at (irc.quakenet.org #pbbans) Click Here.

If you have come here because you were kicked by PunkBuster™ and were subsequently banned from a server, you could visit us in our IRC channel at (irc.quakenet.org #pbbans) Click Here or post your questions/concerns in our forum. If you find that you were listed on one of our ban lists and would like to appeal your ban simply click here and provide as much detail about the incident so we can research it and provide you a with a knowledgeable response.

VisitProject Reality Popular Last Update: 2005/10/27 21:26

Description:
Project Reality is a modification for the soon to be released Battlefield 2 engine. The developer's aims are to rework the original game engine developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (Dice) to recreate a realistic combat environment. This includes adjusting the game's various elements that include physics, visual effects and gameplay. Along with changes to how the game handles, the PR team intends to include additional factions such as the British Military, and add to or alter existing factions so that they resemble real life military elements found within their respective environments.

The name 'Project Reality' is not solely for the purpose of throwing around a catchy title. Project Reality's team has a group of dedicated individuals, several of whom have backgrounds in armed services. Whose sole task it is to provide researched findings and statistical information to the developers tasked with creating the mod itself. If you are looking for a fact based FPS shooter from the perspective of a Soldier, Project Reality will be there to cater to those needs.

Inspiration for this modification has come from interviews BF2 Developers have participated in, to quote:

"Battlefield is all about fun, action-oriented gameplay. We'll leave the truly realistic experiences to the mod teams who thrive on that type of action." (DICE, source)

"Battlefield will always be first about fun and secondly about realism. Realism implies complexity." (Sean Decker, source)

Here are some very basic features that this mod will demonstrate once released.
- Kill Indicator Removed (e.g. Player A has killed Player B)
- Eliminate Friendly Indicator
- Realistic Ballistics (Bullet Drop, Speed, ROF)
- Longer Spawn Times (So hold on to your life)
- Realistic Damage (Goal is that damage to different hitboxes has different outcomes)

More Info to come soon. Game/Fan sites can e-mail us.

VisitForgotten Hope Popular Last Update: 2005/10/13 6:59

Description:
Forgotten Hope is a modification for Battlefield 1942 that concentrates on adding both a more realistic and more enjoyable playing experience than the original BF1942 and includes many new specially designed custom maps to play in.

The mod includes over 250 new pieces of authentic equipment (more than any other Second World War FPS), with tanks such as the mighty Russian IS-2 heavy tank and the diminutive Japanese Ha-Go light tank, aircraft from the rugged American P47 Thunderbolt to the antiquated British Fairey Swordfish biplane, warships such as the British Ark Royal aircraft carrier and the German Battleship Tirpitz and weapons including the powerful German Panzerfausts and the fearsome Russian PPSh-41 submachine gun.

New gameplay elements include a pilot class, which is now the only class equipped with a parachute, these can be found as pickup kits near most aircraft. There are also kits that contain deployable heavy machine guns, which can be setup anywhere on the map to create defensive strongpoints. Tank combat is greatly enhanced by a specially designed armour code, which determines how much armour anti-tank shells can penetrate, making it advantageous to outflank tanks to attack their weak rear armour. There are also towed anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns, these can be driven to a hidden ambush point then deployed to surprise the enemy.

The infantry class system has also been altered for more realistic and tactical gameplay, most maps will now allow you to choose from close quarters (an SMG armed soldier), assault (a rifleman who can use special rifle grenades), support (armed with a light machine gun), anti-tank (armed with an anti-tank weapon such as the bazooka) and officer (who can act as a spotter for artillery weapons and has an SMG). Sniper kits can now only be found spread around the maps, usually in special sniper hides. There are also paratrooper kits for certain maps that call for them, such as falschrimjager for the invasion of Crete.

All these features are implemented in a historically accurate way, so you won’t find the King Tiger on a map set in 1940. Speaking of maps, we also have many new custom maps (more maps than came with BF9142 infact) in addition to modified versions of some of the more popular original maps. The game also includes a new army, the Polish forces, and the French and Italian armies are also currently being implemented. In the future you can expect a host of new features, such as artillery batteries and flame based weapons along with even more accurate equipment for all armies.

So whether you like house to house fighting in Stalingrad, tank battles in the Tunisian desert or dogfights in skies over southern England – Forgotten Hope has something for you.

For further information you might have a look into the manual.

VisitPoint of Existence Popular Last Update: 2005/8/21 9:13

Description:
Ukraine - winter 2007/8.

On a midwinter’s morning, the success of the peaceful ‘Orange Revolution’ of two years before had been brought undone. At 2am, in the still of night, an alliance of pro-Russian factions stormed into the presidential mansion, executing the president and proclaiming the establishment of a new government.

In a few short weeks, all signs of opposition to the oppressive new regime had been brutally stamped out, with all prominent members of opposing political parties either turning up dead, or having gone missing, and all other dissidents imprisoned.

By winters end, heavy international pressure for the re-establishment of democratic processes, beginning with a free press, had built up, largely at the instigation of major western powers such as Germany, the United States, France and Great Britain. Moreover, the entire European Union, the United States, and NGO’s such as Amnesty International had begun to raise concerns of serious human rights violations against Ukrainian minorities such as Crimean Tartars (many having their citizenship status revoked and tortured while incarcerated); imprisonment, torture and suspected execution of Roma people; organized attacks on Hungarians; a rise in anti-Semitic violence and the imprisonment of people living with HIV/AIDS.

In spring 2008, the fledgling conservative German government, in power for seven months, had made its first major diplomatic decision, informing Kiev that if democratic reforms are not made, further diplomatic consequences will result, and showed it was serious by cutting off all trade ties accounting for a loss of ~16% of Ukraine’s imports/exports.

After failed attempts by the United States’ and German secret services to engineer a collapse of the regime, and a decision by other NATO countries that they saw no need to get involved in what was expected to be a US air-power dominated, 1999 Balkans-style campaign, the United States signaled that is was only willing to provide monetary and logistical support for any campaign that Germany engaged in, whilst under the table it had decided that if Russia were to join the conflict, then the US would invoke the NATO pact and 'provide more than mere logistical assistance'.

In spring 2009, German Paratroopers from southeastern Germany dropped over farmland in western Ukraine with the task of securing an airfield near the city of Rivne so that supplies and aircraft operations could be organised. Simultaneously, an amphibious landing operation from the Black Sea was launched in the area near Odessa with the objective of securing oilfields and industrial zones in the Crimea and southern Ukraine to hinder the Ukrainian Military’s fighting and logistic capacity.

After initial German success, the Ukrainians managed to stall the German offensive in a U-shaped line stretching 120 kilometres west of the Dnepr River, to the south of Kiev, and up towards Kharkiv. It was soon found that this was enabled by an increased logistic capacity thanks to supplies originating from Russian military bases and weapons factories in Kazakhstan. Later, US intelligence gathered evidence of Russian aircraft flying nighttime sorties from bases in Kazakhstan against German positions in the Ukraine.

The United States seized the opportunity to invoke the NATO pact and launched cruise missile and air attacks on Russian military bases in Kazakhstan, closely followed by the decision to launch a full invasion of Kazakhstan in order to protect against any surprise attacks against US and German forces stationed in nearby Afghanistan. Under assurance that no fighting would be allowed to take place on its territory, along with the promise of monetary aid and trade benefits, Uzbekistan allowed US land forces to cross from Afghanistan into Kazakhstan.
